Is wanting to live alone when your out of school normal?

A few days ago, me and my friend were talking about what we were going to when we were out of high school.

We got to talking about our living arrangements, and I said that I've always wanted to live alone for a few years of my life. She told me that was really weird and that not very many girls thought like that.

So what I was wondering...is actually looking forward to living alone a normal thing? Does anyone else feel that way?

yes its normal!! If you only knew how many women prefer to live a lone.. lol Living alone allows you to establish your Independence and is very healthy and normal.. maybe she just wants a roomie and cant afford it alone and wants you to help her LOL but either way..yes its normal.

It's BETTER and CHEAPER to live in a dorm for 2 years first. Everyone wants to live alone when they are 18, but college is something you need to experience on campus. I've lived both on campus and off, and when you're on campus you get involved in the parties and the social life.

It is an ABSOLUTELY normal thing! I did it myself, and I don't regret it for one minute.

Thats completely fine. I dont live alone bc i get lonely really fast and love being around ppl 24/7, but my friend likes to have more alone time and has a lil one bedroom apt by herself.There is nothing wrong w wanting to live alone.

Well it depends. If you're going to college, then you probably shouldn't live alone because then you're giving up an opportunity to meet with people who are all meeting each other and you'll get left out in a hurry. However, I don't see anything wrong with wanting to live alone after college. Often you can be fed up with roommates by this point and just want to experience things by yourself for a while. Of course it's not abnormal, some people prefer quiet time and choosing when they do and don't see others. Just make sure you're careful you don't shut yourself in!

um hello you are a grown up and of course its normal to be on your own. dont hold yourself down as soon as you get out of school if you dont want to. its your life. you will not be to happy if you never get it out of your system. do it

yes its normal, you want to break free of the hold your parents have on you. im 19 and about to enter my 2nd year in college. i have my own place off-campus and i love every second of it. its all a part of growing up and showing your parents that youre not a little kid anymore.

It is perfectly normal to want to live on your own. I wanted to do the same, but I couldn't afford it on my own. I eventually had someone move in to share the expenses.

this happen when people are ill treated at home that they want to run or they just want to be independent.being alone also cause others to take advantage of you because there will be no one around to help you in situation in time of need,urgent ones.

Yeah, I think it's pretty normal. Perhaps your friend is a little more money saavy. I found that after living alone I was extremely far behind my peers financially. Unless you live in a dump or make a load of money, I found there wasn't much left over to save and credit cards became a necessity.

oh yeah thats normal..everyone wants to have that independence of living on there own..its not weird..it may not be as fun as living with a room mate though..getting an apartment with a best friend or boyfriend would be fun too..but yea..i feel the same way as you..but it will be unlikely that i will live alone..because it would be too expensive for me to handle myself

It really is a normal thing. When young people graduate high school they start thinking about the future amd whta it holds. One of those things is not living with your parents and actually living by yourself and living by your own rules....Some get to do it and others end up not doing it....Just make sure if you do it that you have a job in whiich you can pay all of your bills and live comfortably. Dont just leave and then find out you can not afford it on your own.

Yeah, it's normal. It's like, okay, school is done, so there's no real reason why I should keep living under the same rules and regulations, nagging, complaining, arguing, the same attitudes, faces, people, that I've been with and been going through hell and back for 18 or more years. It's freedom, like real fresh air and now you can breath on your own. But it's family, or whatever the situation may be, and there's going to be a specific time or feeling, and that's when you'll know what it is that you're going to want to do.
