Xbox Live connection gradualy failing??

For the past few days ive been playing Call of duty 4 on xbox live.

The first day everything was fine a few "Unable to connect" messages when trying to connect to a game but nothing else troubling.

The second day i was having problems connecting to matches, recieving many "unable to connect" %26amp; "Make sure you have an active network conection to play on XBL and/or system link matches." Even though i was still connected to xbox live and during the matches i was able to join had 3 or 4 bars ping.

And now here i am on day 3 ive only got into a handfull of matches today, It seems every time i try to join a match "merc tdm, tbm, ffa etc." The screen goes black for a few secs then comes back with "unable to connect" and yes i am still connected to XBL when its doing this... Ive tried restarting my modem and xbox, ive ran the connectivity test on the control panel and everything appears to be working properly. So uh any ideas? Or is anyone else experiencing this problem?

I have been bothered with this issue as well, but it only seems to have started since the holiday break began (and more so after the 25th). I'm convinced that it is the servers being super full as when I was able to connect to games, other people in the room would be suprised if it started playing too, so they were probably having the same issues. I expect it to pick up when people get back to work, school, and other normal daily activities.
