How many people can live in the States?

Theoretically speaking. If all the available land in the States aside from the parks were used for suburban living, commercial strip malls, and industries. How many more people can live in the States? Keeping in mind that some land would still have to be used for agriculture and some of it is not suitable to live on. Parts of the States are radioactive and who wants to live on unstable cliffs for example.

But say you covered the rest of the USA with tract housing and strip malls, 7-elevens, walgreens, and WalMarts. I'm sure it's possible to fit at least 1.5 Billion people.

Have there been studies done on the matter?

How many people can live in the States?

surely the question is who would _want_ to live in those conditions.

In any case. consider your denser states i.e New Jersey, and look at the population density there.

i make it 4.3 Billion if all us surface area was as dense as new jersey.

(9,826,630 SQ KM x 438/km (nj pop density).

How many people can live in the States?

We cannot allow that to happen. World population growth must be arrested, by peaceful means (family planning).

How many people can live in the States?

I don't know how many could live in the parameter you described. I am however sure that there are entirely to many people wasting the space, and oxygen we have now.
