This year will be my first time entering college. I have the colleges picked out, but should live on campus just yet or wait and get more expierence with the college first?. To me thats just somewhere to live while your going to school. However, that cost extra money. Should a person wait or just go ahead and try it?.
Live on Campus or off of Campus?
Honestly, I would say live on campus. I realize there is an extra cost to it, but I really think it's worth it in the end. It really helps with your social skills %26amp; you will meet tons of different types of people. It will be an experience you will never forget. I strongly recommend living on campus.
Live on Campus or off of Campus?

Live on Campus or off of Campus?
i think you should definitely live on campus in your first year. it helps with meeting people, getting study groups together, and overall adjusting. many schools that have student housing require students to live on campus in their first year... are you sure the schools you have applied to dont do that?
Live on Campus or off of Campus?
On campus from the get-go!! Quickest way to meet new people and to learn your way around.
Plus, it's the added bonus... freedom. You do what you like with your time. Hence, more responsibilities but more chances to play hard.
So I'd say, if you can, go live on campus.
Live on Campus or off of Campus?
Some schools require you to live on campus your first year. The benefits of living on campus are easy access to the campus, not having to pay bills, financial aid can pay for your place to live, and it's a more socialized atmosphere. A couple of the cons are the housing rules and you might not actually like living on campus.
From personally experience, I have always lived on campus and liked it until this year (my school got a new Director of Housing). Some of my friends moved off campus ASAP once their freshman year was over because of the housing rules. Give it a try and if you don't like living on campus, you can move out after a semester.
Live on Campus or off of Campus?
First off does your college require that freshman live on campus...its becoming a more popular thing for colleges (especially the larger ones) to require first time students live on campus.
If they don't require that you live on campus I'll give you some pro/cons to on campus and off campus living.
Oncampus:
Pros = 1. very close to everything you need
2. saves gas money
3. easy to get help from friends/tutors
4. more affordable than apartments
Cons = 1. Can be noisy in dorms
2. Have to live w/anywhere from 1-3 people in a room
Offcampus:
Pros = 1. Quieter
2. More independence
3. Your own bedroom
Cons = 1. Farther from things you need
2. Gas prices are expensive
3. Pricer
Personally I wouldn't trade living in dorms during my freshman year for anything. Its a great way to get to know fellow first years and learn your way around campus better. Dorms also sometimes host get togethers and parties. Try living your first year on campus: its worth it :)

You should live on campus and save the money. Monthly expenses add up when living off campus.
Live on Campus or off of Campus?
From experience, I say live on campus your first year, then go from there. You will meet so many new people that will help you network so you enjoy school more, and have more resources at your disposal. The convenience is great. You can wake up shortly before class and just walk when you're ready. The people you live with in your dorm become a little like family by the end of the year. I highly recommend living on campus for at least a year.

if you can afford it start out on campus..I loved college life
and I loved living on campus..the most important thing is
getting your education..
Live on Campus or off of Campus?
As much as I disliked living in the dorm, I'm glad I did it. First, it let me get used to my university without having to think about lots of extras, like bills for utilities (other than phone). It was a more gradual transition to living "on my own," in that respect. Second, I learned a lot about myself, some of which I can't say I'm necessarily proud of, but at least I learned it. A lot of what I learned has to do with how I feel about people. Long story, not worth sharing. Third, some people really do have a grand time in the dorms; it's the "real" college experience. I did have the chance to get to know lots of interesting people during that time. When I lived in apartments around campus in the last two years of college, I didn't even get to know my neighbors...
Hope my experience can inform your decision.

Find out how much apartments cost in the town as your college, and go from there.
Live on Campus or off of Campus?
Im a first time freshman at college, %26amp; i recommend living on campus, simply for the experience. It breaks you in into what college life is about %26amp; you get to meet more people this way.
Live on Campus or off of Campus?
I have to agree 100% with anyone who said to live on-campus (and for any reason). You won't get this opportunity again.
If you hate it, you can chalk it up to being a "learning experience" and move out after a semester. If you love it, you may stick around another year or two.
In any case, good luck!
Live on Campus or off of Campus?
On campus.
Pros:
Close to school, won't be late,
Cons:
A shooting happens at campus middle of the night, you are "screwed".
