i love geometry wars so much, but i was told the only way to get the game is from xbox live. i don't want to hook up the xbox live just for that, i wouldn't use it enough. does anyone know if i could just go to the store and buy the game, or is it true i have to do it through the xbox live?

Just create a free silver account or make your existing account xbox live, doing this will give you one month free xbox live gold, buy 1600 Microsoft points card which cost $20 go to xbla and search through the games, there are over 90 titles including two free titles which are yaris and aegis wing.
After your done buying games, updating and downloading the free games and demos you want just disconnect from live.

well you could download it by xbox live silver which is free so all you have 2 do is connect ur xbox 2 the internet and select join xbox live on ur dashboard and then put ur name and gamertag n stuff and then when its time to select your plan just choose xbox live silver and you will have free access to download geometry wars on ur xbox

If you are meaning xbox 360...then I believe there is an xbox arcade game disk that includes geometry wars...check for that game disk.
