Is xbox live useful or a load of crap?

xbox live can be a little bit of crap, because you go to the store to buy an expensive system, and now after spending a **** load of money, you now have to pay for xbox live, a modem, and a lot of your time to hook up your xbox 360 to your computer, and then on top of it put in all of this extra **** that requires information.

Do you think xbox live is crap, or is it a very helpful tool to communicate with your friends and surroundings?

if you already have the modem and stuff it is better and does not take along time to hook up you just hook up the ethernet cable to the modem and you get free xbox live silver or you can get gold gold you can play online with freinds on silver you can only chat and download demos and stuff xbox live gold is only fifty bucks for a year thats not that bad and you get free gold for a month i have xbox live it is awsome playing against real people in call of duty four modern warfare my gamer tag is xXdpCOD4pdXx it is not a load of crap it is fun as hell you dont JUST talk to freinds you play against them.

What are you talking about, Live gold costs 5 bucks a month. A modem???? WHat you hook it direct to your HI SPEED, if you have dial up then it is a useless item for you. If you would rather play the virtual enemies instead of your buds from school or around the world then don't get it. You set it up once and forget it. Geez tell ya what get me 800 bucks and my 16 year old will travel to your site, and install it for you come home and still make money!!!

xbox live is very useful if you like playing online games (right now, its better than the playstation network which is free). But everything is a rip off ($4 for a TV show, $10 to change your gamertag, $10 for 80's games).

Personally, I think the 360 is one giant waste of money (you have to buy EVERYTHING for it... wifi, HD-DVD, batteries, online play)... M$ is a joke.

I just got a PS3 and will sell my 360 soon, since I'm fed up with paying for extra stuff.

Atleast now I got bluray, wifi and a true nex gen system.
