Xbox 360 Live Account Help?

Hi, I have recently made an xbox 360 live account - now on that account it has a really low gamerscore, yet a name i really want - after making the account i found an old memory card from when i had an xbox 360 before (which has a high gamerscore) but it has never been a live account.

So i put in the memory card and made the account a live one with a month gold trial, but now it has a name i didn't really want, and im left with 2 accounts - a bad gamerscore one with the name i like and a good gamerscore one with a bad name.

Can i pay 800 points to make the good name account have its name changed to something random like "abcdefghi" which im guessing will make the good name publicly available again for anyone... then i can pay yet another 800 points to make the bad name accounts name changed to the good name? (which is available to anyone again?)

Anyone know if this will work? or is the good name i want bound forever to the original account thing. Thanks

you can change your name at any time

for the 800 points

but take the good name and add numbers or letters to it and that may help make it available

Unfortunately, that can't be done. Microsoft "retires" the gamertags. I tried to use my old gamertag, back when I had an original Xbox, and I couldn't.

You should be able to do it that way. It might take a little while to become enabled. You can probably just delete the account with the good name and then that will become enabled again. Just out of curiosity, how high is the higher gamerscore?
